We Attended the 'Law & Order: SVU' 25th Anniversary Pop-Up in NYC and Channeled Our Inner Olivia Benson

On March 24, the hit crime drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit officially turns 25 (making it the longest-running scripted drama in the U.S.), but ahead of the big day, the show celebrated with fans at an exclusive pop-up event outside Rockefeller Center in New York City.

We got to check out the fun event and step into the world of Captain Olivia Benson—played by the one and only Mariska Hargitay—and all her pals at the 16th precinct, with a few familiar faces even making an appearance.

Fully embracing the city vibe, the entrance to "Olivia Benson Plaza" features a subway turnstile. Once inside, there's plenty to see, with a Benson & Co. Coffee truck featuring a witty menu of complimentary drinks (which were delicious!) that include latte art and pay tribute to the beloved cast members—"Benson's Captain-ccino," "Cup of Joe Valesco," and "Latte and Order," to name a few—along a unique cup to take home. There's also a small shop offering exclusive merchandise, including a Law & Order: SVU 25th anniversary t-shirt.

A few of the show's cast members stopped by to check out the show brought to life for the event, with Octavio Pisano, who plays Detective Joe Velasco, and Kevin Kane, or Detective Terry Bruno, visiting, along with Ryan Buggle, who plays Benson's son Noah Porter-Benson.

The immersive event has plenty of photo opportunities for fans to make lasting memories, including a Captain Benson-themed subway station and a big Law & Order sign out in front, along with a "Dun Dun" sculpture that will really make your photos pop on social media. You should also definitely grab one of the commemorative newspapers on your way out!

The anniversary event is free to the public and will only take place on March 14 and 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST. With anticipation running high, fans were lined up around the block ahead of Thursday's official opening. There will reportedly be Law & Order: SVU-themed trivia and giveaways on both days to add to the fun.

But for fans unable to get to the pop-up in NYC, you can celebrate the show's major milestone with a 25-hour marathon airing on the official anniversary of March 24.

Law & Order: SVU airs Thursdays at 9/8c on NBC.
