Apple offers free Apple TV+ subscription through Jan. 5: How to binge movies, shows

With a wintry weather forecast on the horizon in much of the states, curling up to watch a favorite comfort movie may be the best way to spend the weekend. To compliment, folks at home may want to catch the tail end of an Apple TV+ promotion.

Through Sunday, Jan. 5, Apple is offering free access to its streaming service Apple TV+. The three-day promotion kicked off on Friday, Jan. 3. Apple TV+ will be available for free on all devices that offer the streaming service.

The service will be free on any device that supports Apple TV+. Customers who want to watch must sign in with their Apple ID.

Where can you watch Apple TV+ movies, shows?

Apple TV+ is available in more than 100 countries and regions on Apple devices like the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro, Mac, and smart televisions from Samsung, LG, Sony, VIZIO, TCL and others. Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices, Chromecast with Google TV, and PlayStation and Xbox consoles also offer the service.

How much is an Apple TV+ subscription?

Traditionally, an Apple TV+ subscription is $9.99 per month. Folks who purchase a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, or iPod may redeem a free three-month subscription of Apple TV+.

What can you watch for free on Apple TV+?

Like most streaming services, Apple TV+ boasts a collection of original content.

Standout films include Academy Award winners "Killers of the Flower Moon," "Napoleon" and "CODA." And popularly talked about television shows and series including "The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey", "Presumed Innocent", "Slow Horses", "Severance," "Ted Lasso," "Silo" and "The Morning Show."

Apple also owns the Peanuts franchise, meaning all Charlie Brown content is available on Apple TV+.
