Andy Cohen Claps Back After Receiving Backlash for 'Housewives' Plastic Surgery Questions

After being called out by fans for asking the stars of Real Housewives personal questions about plastic surgery, Andy Cohen is responding to the criticism.

Cohen took to X on Wednesday, Jan. 29, to address a message slamming him for his habit of questioning the women on the show about "what work they had done."

"This isn't 2009 anymore and women can do whatever they want to their face/bodies," the X user wrote. "It's time to retire this question. It's rude and does 0 for the viewers."

In his own message, Cohen explained that viewers are curious about what cosmetic procedures the Housewives have tried.

"'What work have you done' remains at the top of viewer questions every season, every franchise," he wrote. "The HW have unabashedly let us into their beauty regimes since day one; it's a big part of the series DNA."

Fans in the comments agreed with Cohen's assessment.

"Thank you Andy. We NEED to know. So anyways, a true housewife isn't bothered by this question. She answers in need-to-know mode. What she wants us to know, we know," one person argued.

"You don’t have to explain yourself! These people are just being haters. We ALL wanna know what they got done and lowkey where they went so we can book our consultations," someone else chimed in.

Another X user pointed out that when the Housewives are transparent about what they've had done, it "shows people exactly how much work goes into 'looking perfect.'"

Not everybody was happy with Cohen's defense, however.

"It’s not because something has been a certain way forever that it must remain that way. You could also word it as 'share your beauty regiment [sic] with us' as opposed to making it about the 'work they got done,'" somebody suggested, adding, "Do better."
