After months of trying to get Andrew Garfield on the show, creator of the YouTube series Amelia Dimoldenberg has given fans what they wanted in her latest episode released on Oct. 18 (well, sort of).
Fans awaited the episode's release with the hope the pair would address their relationship status after years of flirty banter since first meeting at GQ's Men of the Awards in November 2022.
The day before the Chicken Shop Date episode premiered, Dimoldenberg teased her relationship status during an appearance on the Drew Barrymore Show when she revealed she is single, though noted she has "kissed someone recently" without naming names.
In the latest episode of Chicken Shop Date, Garfield and Dimoldenberg address their relationship and flirty romantic history head-on over plates of fried food at Sam's Chicken in Harlesden, London.

The two jokingly went back and forth throughout the entire clip, prompting Garfield to specifically point out their playful exchange within three minutes of filming. "This is called flirting, Amelia, this is called flirting!"
When recalling their interactions in the past, first at the GQ party and then at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards, the Spider-Man actor referred to them as "meet cutes," before clarifying, "This is actually a first date."
Dimoldenberg explained to Garfield how she's not afraid to ask people out on dates, despite getting "a no back a lot," something that he particularly took a liking to.
"So you're bold, courageous, you just go for it?" the actor asked the host. When she confirmed, Garfield replied, "I really appreciate that so much! I think that's sexy, I think that's really hot."
At one point during the interview, Garfield pointed out a recurring gesture that Dimoldenberg does often when they interact. "I like it actually, I'm into it," she told him of observing and calling her out on "all of her moves."
When Garfield attempted to pose the possibility of dating Dimoldenberg — asking "if we were to start a relationship" — she jokingly cut him off with a quip that made him laugh, which prompted him to tell her that he "really appreciates" her humor.
Dimoldenberg voiced the fact that "there's something going on," physically pointing at both him and herself. "If this wasn't here do you think we'd actually go on a date?" questioned Garfield in reference to the set up for the episode.

"Take out all the practicalities and the logic. I actually believe, maybe, we could've [gone on a date] without all of this," Garfield told Dimoldenberg, who replied, "Yeah."
Toward the end of the interview, Garfield asked Dimoldenberg about her interest in having children and getting married in the future. "I don't mind," she replied about both of his asks, though noted that she's interested in a longtime partnership but likes her independence.
Garfield later jokingly asked Dimoldenberg if he'd be "hotter" if he was an Oscar winner. "No, you're already like kind of hot," she told him, causing him to laugh and put his head in his hands.
"I think we'd have a really nice time without the camera. I think we'd just enjoy each other's company," Garfield told Dimoldenberg, who replied: "I think we should be friends."

The two joked about being "friend-zoned," but Dimoldenberg reminded Garfield that he has her number if anything changes, revealing that he previously asked her for it at a party.
At the end of the episode, Garfield called their date "a practice round." He concluded, "I think we should do it again actually, and better."
