Amy Adams’ Daughter Inspired Her To Go Make-up Free (Kinda)
While we know celebrities via their public-facing lives (I'm talking red carpet appearances, media interviews and of course, what they choose to share on social media), behind the scenes, it's a different story, as Amy Adams recently shared.
Speaking with PEOPLE Magazine, the actor – who is known for both her comedic and dramatic roles – spoke about her previous decision not to wear makeup in public and the interesting reason for this.
Reminiscing on her daughter's childhood, Amy remembers Aviana requesting that she keep it natural. "She didn't like me wearing makeup," Amy said.
"She's like, 'I just want you to look like Mom, not like Amy Adams.' And I was like, 'You got it.' So there were years when I didn't wear makeup wherever we went. I mean, I sneaked some mascara. But yeah, I wouldn't wear makeup because she wanted me to be just mom."
Fast forward a few years to the present day, Amy hints that her now 14-year-old daughter's thoughts on the matter have changed. "I'm usually the least manicured at my household [...] But lately, per my daughter's request, I'm working on an upgrade.
"She's like, 'You can't wear workout clothes if you're not working out, Mom, you can't just do the leisure part of athleisure.'" Ahh, teen dictatorship, we've all been there!
And on that note, I reiterate that Gen Z's know best. Aviana, Cosmo stands with your decisions.
