Matt LeBlanc reveals 'gross' secret about Friends
Matt LeBlanc has revealed a hilarious secret about an infamous Friends scene that brings it’s gross-factor to new heights.
The actor was discussing the scene in which Rachel, played by Jennifer Aniston, accidentally mixed two different recipes when the pages of her cookbook stuck together, and the result was a stomach-churning trifle complete with layers of beef mince and peas.
But Matt, 50, took its icky levels up a notch when he explained that in the comical (and oh-so-relatable) scene, he was actually unwittingly eating David Schwimmer — who played Ross’— regurgitated food.
“There was too much on his plate,” the dad-of-one said during an appearance on the Graham Norton Show. “So he starts to eat it all and he can’t finish it and he starts laughing, so we cut.”
“As we’re cutting, he kind of spits it back on his plate,” Matt goes on. “I’m sitting right next to him, and I’m looking the other way. I didn’t see him spit it back on his plate.”
While thankfully the pie they were eating was in reality just whipped cream and bananas, he goes on to say he ate David’s spat out leftovers during the next take after unknowingly scraping his castoffs onto his own plate.
Despite the entire crew seeing what happened, Matt revealed “no one said anything to me” so he was completely unaware until the series wrapped and the cast were shown a blooper reel.
“We’re watching the blooper reel and I go, ‘Oh, I love this. This is funny,’” he explained, as his grin turned to complete horror. “I go, ‘Nobody ever told me that?!’”
The unknown fact is sure to amuse Friends fans as it makes the scene that whole much funnier.
Despite taking a walk down memory lane, the majority of the cast have all shut down the idea of a possible on-screen reunion.
Last year, Matthew Perry discussed a “recurring nightmare” he has about recording the much wanted reunion only for it to tank.
“I have this recurring nightmare — I’m not kidding about this — when I’m asleep, I have this nightmare that we do Friends again and nobody cares,” he told Variety about the chances of revisiting his character Chandler Bing.
Lisa Kudrow also shut it down, telling Heat that it’s “not going to happen”.
We hope the show’s stars will keep sharing their behind-the-scenes stories to keep us going as we live in hope of a Friends miracle.
