Amal Clooney is radiant in a butter-yellow lace gown in Venice
Amal Clooney made a rare red-carpet appearance this week at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, stepping out to support the premiere of Wolfs, the crime thriller starring her husband George Clooney. And while the actor was certainly the star of the show — earning a four-minute standing ovation for his performance — Amal was unmissable in a lace Atelier Versace gown.
Similarly deserving of praise, the elegant dress featured delicate layers of yellow and white material, creating a tiered skirt with cascading ruffles. The voluminous ruching transitioned into long, flowing train, which the human rights lawyer often needed assistance with in arranging for photos. Up top, a corseted frame cinched her waist, while more airy ruffles decorated her neckline.
Amal often turns to Donatella Versace for big style moments, enlisting her help for the 2023 Fashion Awards and last year’s Albie Awards. Their partnership has resulted in some of Clooney’s most show-stopping looks.
Keeping the focus on her angelic gown, she styled the garment with simple white pumps from Aquazzura, and added some sparkle with a diamond-encrusted clutch from Judith Leiber. A voluminous blow-dry and sun-kissed glam further emphasised Amal’s radiant look, while diamond earrings served as her final accessory.
Meanwhile, George opted for a timeless black-and-white tuxedo. He paired the suit with a black bow-tie, patent leather dress shoes, and a sizeable silver Omega watch, which peeked out from his left sleeve. Later in the night, he posed with longtime friend and Wolfs co-star Brad Pitt, who sported a black tee layered underneath a contemporary all-black suit with flared trousers.
The night before, the Clooneys joined Pitt and his new girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, for a romantic double date. Taking in the scenes of Venice in a picturesque taxi boat ride, the group was spotted waving to fans before arriving at a restaurant for dinner. Amal and George embodied classic date-night style in coordinating outfits, while Pitt wore snakeskin loafers and several diamond bracelets.
