Allison Holker is proud of the connection she shares with all three of her kids.

Speaking with PEOPLE about her partnership with Shipt, celebrating the back-to-school season, the mom of three opens up about navigating her own busy schedule and her kids' many interests.

"When Shipt reached out, it felt right. I'm such a busy mom, especially being a single mom. I'm always on the go with my kids and their activities. I work constantly so when I saw what their platform stands for, I realized it could truly make our lives easier. I'm always looking for ways that help my family be most efficient," she shares.

"For me, it makes so much sense that Shipt helps me focus on having fun with my kids and spending my time with them while they take care of the fresh foods and beauty and wellness and office and school supplies."

Holker credits older daughter Weslie, 16, for helping her navigate all the chaotic seasons their family has endured.

"I couldn't be more grateful for the relationship I have with her," the proud mom shares. "I will always be mommy first, but we're best friends."

"We lean on each other in our high moments, but also our low moments, when we're really emotional or triggered or going through something. I'm really, really grateful that she sees me and I see her. We listen to each other and we communicate."

Holker feels "very, very blessed" not to have the tough time some moms and daughters go through amid the teenage years.

"I have a really lovely relationship with my daughter and we respect each other and we communicate. We have fun together, and we laugh together. This weekend, for example. Most kids would be out there taking advantage of the last days of summer with their friends, going out and going to parties. My daughter went and bought a puzzle. We bought an 18,000-piece puzzle on Saturday and spent four hours working on this puzzle together," she laughs.

"It was just magical. I don't know many teenage girls that are like, 'Yeah, during my summer I was in the garage with my mom, putting a puzzle together,' you know? What we have is really, really special and I definitely don't take it for granted."

Holker is also enjoying making special memories with her younger children, Zaia, 4, and Maddox, 8, as they pursue their passions.

"My son Maddox, he's only 8, but he's on AAU basketball team, where it starts like being very, very competitive. So I'm a basketball mommy now, and I have so much to learn about his skills," she shares.

"He’s starting on a traveling team this year, which is absolutely insane. I've never been a part of this but I know, like I was like a dancer and I had to travel all the time. So I'm trying to brace myself and get ready for it, but he's in basketball and he's absolutely obsessed. He's really good."

Zaia is already a gymnast who is now getting ready to add a new talent — one that's dear to the family — to her repertoire.

"This fall, when school starts, she's gonna start in dance," the proud mom reveals. "I'm like really excited for her. It'll be fun."

"Also, I haven't signed her up quite yet for it, but I think I'm also gonna put her in acting lessons because this girl is spicy," Holker adds with a laugh. "All of my kids have personality but she is like the spice on everyone. She owns this house for sure."
