Former Philadelphia 76ers player Allen Iverson has a large family

While Allen Iverson retired from the NBA in 2013, he’s still a member of the dad squad.

The former Philadelphia 76ers player is a dad of five. Allen shares his children, Tiaura, Allen II, Isaiah, Messiah and Dream, with his ex-wife, Tawanna Taylor.

The retired NBA player has gushed on social media that he loves being a part of the “fathers fraternity.” He made the comment on Instagram in 2017, adding, “I'm the best father in the world because they said so!”

Allen’s five children were present as he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. The basketball star gave his “babies” individual shout-outs in his emotional speech at the ceremony, and thanked them for being his “crutch” in his career.

“When I had hard losses, didn’t play well, you know, the media treating me like they did throughout my career, I always came home and forgot about all of that once I saw y’all,” he said. “So, thanks for being my crutch and I love y’all so much.”

Tiaura Iverson

Allen and his then-wife Tawanna welcomed their first child, daughter Tiaura Iverson, on Dec. 16, 1994.

In his Hall of Fame speech in 2016, the proud dad referred to his firstborn as “Honey Boo Boo a.k.a. Daddy Send Me Some Money.” The remark elicited a laugh from Tiaura and the audience.

Allen celebrated his oldest daughter’s 29th birthday in 2023 with a touching tribute on Instagram. Alongside a carousel featuring images and a video of Tiaura, Allen penned: “Extremely proud of you and your maturation over the years.”

He continued, “None of us are perfect. Just keep working on being the best version of you. Happy 29th birthday forever daddy’s little girl!”

Allen Iverson II

Allen and Tawanna welcomed their second child, son Allen Iverson II in 1998.

The NBA star expressed his love for his son, whom he called “Deuce,” in his Hall of Fame speech. “I love you,” Allen told him. “I’m proud of you.”

As a child, Allen II was pictured with his dad at a pre-season game and at the FIBA Americas Men's Basketball Olympic qualifying tournament in 2003. The basketball star playfully pinched his son’s cheek after the United States team beat Venezuela.

More recently, Allen II has joined his father at events, including at the Reebok X Packer Shoes launch party in celebration of Allen in New York City in September 2016.

According to his LinkedIn page, Allen II studied at El Camino College in Torrance, California between 2018 and 2020.

Isaiah Rahsaan Iverson

Allen and Tawanna welcomed their third child, son Isaiah Rahsaan Iverson in August 2003.

Isaiah was overcome with emotion as his dad spoke about him at the 2016 Hall of Fame ceremony. Allen revealed at the event that they call Isaiah “the professor” because he is “so smart.”

“Around the house, when something needs to be done or fixed, his mom will say, ‘Go ask Isaiah. He’ll show you how to do it,’ ” Allen shared in his remarks. “[You're] smart, man, and I’m proud of you. And follow your dreams and keep doing what you’re doing, man. I’m proud of you.”

In 2022, Allen celebrated his son’s high school graduation. “Congratulations on finishing what you started. This is just one of many journeys you will take through life,” he wrote on Instagram. “Our family is extremely proud of you. Whatever you choose to do in life, follow through and execute. CLASS OF 2022.”

Messiah Lauren Iverson

Allen and Tawanna welcomed their fourth child, daughter Messiah Lauren Iverson, on Aug. 15, 2005.

In a statement after Messiah’s birth, the family said: "Mom, Dad, sister Tiaura, and brothers Allen II and Isaiah Rahsaan, along with baby Messiah, are all doing well."

Messiah was seen wiping away tears as her dad spoke lovingly of her at the Hall of Fame ceremony in 2016.

The retired basketball player has called his daughter his “boobie boob.” on social media in a post celebrating her 16th birthday in 2021, a nickname he repeated in his Hall of Fame speech.

“You’re so great. I’m so proud of you,” Allen said of Messiah in the speech. “I love you so much and you make me so happy.”

Allen was a proud dad in 2019 when his daughter graduated from junior high. The Olympic bronze medalist congratulated his little girl in an Instagram post and wished her well on her next journey into high school.

"Graduating with your best friend must be nice! #Honorandloyalty," he wrote alongside a photo of him posing between his daughter and her friend.

Messiah hasn't shared much content on her own Instagram page, but posted photos of herself on her grid in April and August of 2024.

Dream Iverson

Allen and Tawanna welcomed their fourth child, daughter Dream Iverson, in October 2008.

“I love her so much. Ever since she was born, she gotta sleep with daddy,” Allen recalled in his Hall of Fame ceremony speech. “Got her own room and her own bed, but gotta sleep with daddy.”

Allen has dubbed his youngest child his “twin” and “mini me” on Instagram.

As with his older kids, the former basketball player is proud of Dream. Allen shared a snapshot of his youngest child holding a certificate of promotion in 2019, which he captioned: “Congrats to my baby girl Dream! Daddy so proud of you. #Middleschool.”
