Want some more everyday glamour? Here’s how to re-create a TikTok creator’s beauty routine | Pretty Beautiful

If you’ve come across any Alix Earle videos on TikTok, you’ve probably been amazed at how effortlessly she masters her makeup routine. In this installment of Pretty Beautiful, beauty and style expert Lisa Azcona tries out Alix’s instructions using all of the influencer’s favorite products to find out if an “everyday girl” can achieve the same glamorous results.

Step 1: Moisturize

To start off, Alix always likes to make sure her skin is properly moisturized. Her two staple products are Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream and Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops.

Alix likes to mix both moisturizers together and apply all at once, so use the back of your hand to combine them before rubbing the cream into your face.

Step 2: Foundation

Next up is foundation. Alix’s go-to is Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, which is sheer and buildable so it blends in seamlessly. Use a fluffy brush to apply the foundation, making sure to spread the product down your neck.

Step 3: Concealer

Alix loves to go a bit heavier with concealer and switches up her routine from time to time by using two different products: Tarte Shape Tape Concealer and Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer.

Lisa opts for the Tarte option, re-creating Alix’s method by applying the concealer to several areas of her face — under her eyes, her chin, her nose and her forehead. Use a makeup sponge to blend it in.

“Concealer is always necessary because it covers dark circles, and it brings back the light into your face,” Lisa says.

Step 4: Contour and bronze

After concealer, Alix uses Tarte Sculpt Tape to contour and bronze, which brings the warmth back into her face. To apply, dot the product above your eyebrows, along your cheekbones, along your jawline and on the tip of your nose. Use a brush to blend, making sure to dab the product into your skin rather than swiping it across your face.

Step 5: Set

The next step is to set everything you’ve just applied. For this, Alix uses Huda Beauty Loose Baking and Setting Powder. To re-create her method, use a makeup sponge to apply the product down your nose, under your eyes, around your forehead and on your chin.

Step 6: Eyebrows

Alix likes two products by the brand Benefit Cosmetics for her eyebrows: the Precisely, My Brow Pencil and 24-HR Brow Setter Brow Gel. First, use the brow pencil to fill in any gaps. Then use the setter gel to help keep your brows in place.

Step 7: Highlighter

Alix’s highlighter of choice is Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Twinkle Highlighter, which Lisa says is a “game changer.” She adds, “This will literally make your nose shine so bright.”

To apply, use a small brush to rub the product into the top of your nose.

Step 8: Eyeshadow

For eyeshadow, Alix likes to use Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer instead of an actual eyeshadow palette. Apply this across the entire eyelid using a fluffy brush.

Step 9: Blush

Alix uses Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in the shades “Happy” or “Hope.” To use this, apply the product along the top of your cheekbones in small dabs and gently rub in. Use as much as you’d like to achieve your desired level of rosiness.

Step 10: Eyelashes

“This is the most challenging part,” Lisa says as she moves on to lashes. Alix doesn’t put on lashes in any of her videos and instead has a method using an eyelash curler.

To mimic the Alix Earle method, Lisa says, “You basically have to squeeze your lashes and feel like your eyeballs are going to come out.” After trying it for herself, Lisa is impressed with the outcome. “Wow! It really does work,” she says.

The next part of re-creating Alix’s lashes is mascara. She layers two different mascaras on top of each other: first Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara, followed by Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara. While applying the second mascara, be sure to lengthen and separate the lashes as you go.

Step 11: Eyeliner

One of the most iconic parts of Alix’s makeup routine is her eyeliner. She likes to apply a cream or white shade of eyeliner to her eyes’ waterline. Her favorite product for this is Tarte Fake Awake Eye Highlighter.

Next, Alix uses brown or black eyeshadow to create a soft cat-eye or wing. There are a few eyeshadow palettes she has used for this step, including products by Makeup by Mario, Patrick Ta and Tarte.

Use a brush to apply a subtle wing off the end of each eye with the shade of your choosing.

Step 12: Lips

Alix’s look includes very full lips, which she has shared is a result of lip fillers. To re-create this appearance, Lisa opts to use additional lip liner. Alix often uses Persona Lip Liner and Fenty Lip Gloss in the shade “$weetmouth.”

Start by applying the lip liner to accentuate the edges of your lips to give a fuller appearance. Then apply the lip gloss.

Step 13: Faux freckles

Another one of Alix’s signatures is her faux freckles. For this, Lisa uses Freck Beauty Original Freckle. Use the product’s applicator to dot the faux freckles onto your face and dab the dots down with your fingers to give a more natural appearance.
