Aldi's $20 Christmas buy a 'must-have': 'How cool are these?'
With Christmas just over a week away, many Aussies are turning their attention to those final festive flourishes, such as table decorations and, of course, Christmas bon bons.
Also known as crackers, these yuletide gifts certainly go off with a bang — literally — during Christmas lunch.
While the contents of traditional bons bons, typically a paper hat, cheesy joke and a small plastic toy, will always have a place in our hearts, sometimes you want something a little bit fancier.
That's why Aldi shoppers are once again rushing in-store to snap up one of the more luxe Christmas cracker options on the market.
Featuring trinkets embellished with Swarovski crystals, it's little wonder the German retailer's 'Hidden Secrets Bon Bons' are so popular.
For a bargain price of $19.99, customers get six silver-wrapped bon bons stuffed with wearable bling such as a necklace, earrings or a tie clip, all twinkling with Swarovski crystals.
And don't fret, there's also a hat and a joke as well.

When the Christmas item's arrival in-stores was announced on Aldi's Facebook page, fans were thrilled with the news and sent the comments section abuzz.
One shopper called them 'fancy bonbons' and another deemed them a 'must-buy' for the festive season.
"Better than the plastic toys," one remarked while another added, "What the heck. How cool is this?"
"We need these for Christmas Day!" wrote a third.
Aldi's bon bons were also a hit last December, with a shopper sharing a snap of the product along with the caption, "Found these in aldi for only $20. I know they were cheap but still a nicer alternative to other crackers."
