Naomi Campbell's airport style has taken a very different turn amid the COVID-19 panic with the famously germaphobic supermodel sharing photos of herself in a hazmat suit while travelling.

The 49-year-old took to Instagram to showcase her new airport style featuring the white hazmat suit, a blue face mask, safety goggles and pink gloves.

The photo comes as COVID-19 panic sweeps across the world and Naomi is clearly not taking any chances.

In one photo she posed inside the Los Angeles International Airport and in another snap she's wearing a cape across her shoulders.

Naomi captioned the snaps, "Safety First NEXT LEVEL. Thank you @lindaevangelista. Full video coming on my YouTube soon…"

The supermodel has previously gone viral after she shared a video of her airport routine on YouTube.

In the video she reveals that on every flight she gets on she wipes down every single part of it including the TV, armrests, tray table, seatbelt.

“Clean anything you touch. Anything you could possibly touch,” she says. “This is what I do on every plane I get on. I do not care what people think of me. It’s my health and it makes me feel better.”

On top of that she also has her own seat covers for the chair which she tells the camera are "hand washed at every hotel".

She then wears a black face mask to cover her nose and mouth, "No matter what plane you take, private or commercial, as the plane descends people start coughing and sneezing. And the coughing and sneezing makes me … I just can’t.”

“As much as I travel, I should get sick so much more with colds and stuff and I’m blessed that I don’t,” she adds. “I really think this helps me — my little routine.”

Meanwhile, America’s Got Talent judge Howie Mandel shocked fans when he turned up to the show’s auditions in a full hazmat suit complete with face mask on Wednesday.

As another famous germaphobe, Howie didn’t want to take any chances with COVID-19.

Howie was photographed heading into the studio for the taping with rubber gloves finishing off his virus-proof look.

The taping in Pasadena, California was the judge’s opportunity to don the suit, after using his social media to tease fans about his response to the virus.

He posted an image of an ambulance with a patient covered in protective plastic on Monday alongside the caption, ‘me heading to work’.

The post attracted a mixed reaction from fans many whom lambasted the judge for his jokes about the virus which has killed thousands.

It looks like the suit may have been a somewhat jocular precaution as well, as the gas mask is attached to a hose that simply dangles open. Not providing much in the way of sanitised air.

He also shared an image of him talking to a woman who seems to be his wife.

We can’t be sure, as she is clad in head to toe protective gear.

“My wife’s new lingerie,” he joked.

Fellow judges Heidi Klum and newcomer Sofia Vergara were also spotted, although the celebrities were more casually attired for the occasion.

The virus has sent more than just a talent judge host into meltdown.

Cancellations of everything from music festival Coachella, to concert dates, have been announced since the virus first began to spread, and it has now escalated to include the whole of Italy in lockdown.
