This affordable Amazon cardigan looks just like this popular $325 cashmere one — and trust me, it’s so cozy
Sweater weather is on its way, and this year, I’m all about the oversized cardigan.
You know the ones from the cool and casual California retailer Jenni Kayne? They’re perfectly cozy, ultra-oversized and effortlessly chic. One of my most stylish friends recently wore one draped over her shoulders paired with linen wide-leg pants for a weekend in the Hamptons and just oozed the old-money aesthetic. Now, I’m shamelessly trying to copy the look.
The problem is that many of the brand’s sweaters are sold out in the colors and sizes that I want — not to mention they’re pretty pricey. Since I’m not currently in a place to shell out all my money on luxurious knits, I found a pretty cozy alternative to the Cody Cardigan on Amazon — and I’m obsessed with it.

The Drop Women’s Brigitte Chunky Button Front Pocket Ribbed Cardigan from Amazon is about $55, and it comes in eight colors, including neutrals like black, white, brown and “heather mushroom.” I purchased the latter with Amazon’s “Try Before You Buy” feature, and as soon as I put it on, I knew I needed another. The material is incredibly thick, well-knit and soft. It looks and feels so much more expensive than it is and instantly makes me feel like a rich granddaughter with a waterfront beach house.
Amazon’s The Drop brand also makes a matching tank top and pair of shorts if you want a whole knit set. However, I think the cardigan would look great on its own over a T-shirt with a relaxed pair of boyfriend jeans or with wide-leg pants and a fitted bodysuit.
“I tend to be wary of quality when it comes to ordering clothing off of Amazon, but this surpassed my expectations,” wrote one Amazon reviewer. “It didn’t have an odd smell and it was knitted well and had a decent weight to it. I wore this while I traveled and it kept me warm enough. It also layers well above a T-shirt or tank.”
“I loved everything about this sweater, so I ordered another one in black,” wrote another. “I did order a larger size. So cozy and very light weight. I love love love it.”
I was so happy with my purchase that I got another color, too. Then, I found the LILLUSORY Women’s Open Front Oversized Button Cardigan, and it looks a lot like another expensive sweater I’ve had my eye on. Admittedly, I took a risk buying it because there aren’t a ton of Amazon reviews for it. But I’m so glad I did. It’s not cashmere, but it still feels buttery soft — and it’s only $37.

“I have (and cherish) a Jenni Kayne cocoon cardigan,” wrote one Amazon shopper about the LILLUSORY cardigan. “It’s in basic beige and while I’ve dreamed of adding more colors to my wardrobe, these sweaters are like $500. That’s kind of an undertaking. I took a chance on these and I’m so glad I did. I ordered this sweater in both gray and navy and I was blown away by the quality of this dupe. The cashmere cardigan from JK is softer and cozier, but these have an amazing comfy weight to them and a very smooth weave that washes well.”
Whether you’re an avid Amazon shopper or you’ve never purchased clothing from the online retailer, trust me, these sweaters are a great, affordable alternative.
