The Brazilian supermodel put her wings back on for the return of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
Adriana Lima put her wings back on for the first time in six years!
The Brazilian supermodel and veteran Angel, 43, walked in the return of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Oct. 15. She dazzled the crowd in a sparkly bra and underwear, plaid sleeves and matching pants plus VS pink wings.
Lima made a heart with her hands as she closed out the first segment of the show, which kicked off with a performance from Lisa, followed by an appearance by Gigi Hadid.
Victoria’s Secret announced the “Guardian Angel’s” return to the show in a Instagram reel collaboration with her. Lima told a taxi driver her destination: “Home. I’m going home,” mimicking a scene from the film How to Be Single. “Can you drop me off at the Victoria’s Secret show?”
The show last took place in 2018, when Lima retired. The audience reacted in cheers when she took the runway on Tuesday night's show.
The Brazilian model made her first appearance in a Victoria’s Secret show in 1999, walking in 18 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows before retiring in 2018.
In her tenure with Victoria's Secret, she had worn the Fantasy Bra three times, along with countless other show-stopping looks.

"I'm so excited and nervous and anxious," Lima told PEOPLE ahead of the show. "The nervousness and anxiety doesn't come from a bad place. It's something really big for me and that I love. I'm really happy to be in the Victoria's Secret show because this is where everything started for me. My first show was in 1999 in New York City. My last show in 2018 was also in New York City, and I'm back again in New York. It's incredible. I seriously did not think that I would be back, and it feels awesome."
Lima added that returning to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was also like "a family reunion."
"Some of these models have been my fellow angels and partners for a while," she said. "It's good to see them. A lot of them are moms now like I am. We have a lot of things to talk about. I'm sure that everyone at home and all the Victoria's Secret fans will be pleased and amazed with what they're going to see."
Lima closed the 2018 show, which was the brand’s final show before a six-year hiatus, in a halo of feathers and a top made of silver details. Lima had tears in her eyes on the runway, and at the end of the catwalk, she held her hands over her chest and thanked the audience.
She told PEOPLE before her final walk this would be the highlight of her career with the brand.
“I always love to be on runways and being part of the Victoria’s Secret show. It my favorite to do,” Lima said.
The model told PEOPLE she would be focusing on new projects empowering women. She took to Instagram to thank Victoria’s Secret for “not just giving me wings but teaching me to fly.”
In 2023, Lima celebrated Victoria’s Secret’s move towards inclusivity.
Victoria's Secret's emphasis on inclusion started in 2019 when the brand faced pushback on a lack of body diversity which led to the fashion show being cancelled. The brand began advertising more body diversity and tried to make stores more welcoming with brighter lights and pale pink walls.
“I feel that as a woman, and still being in fashion — I’m 42 years old and a mom with five kids, so I feel that I’m still being celebrated in this stage of my life,” Lima told PEOPLE at the time. “It’s great to see that no matter what stage you are [in life], for my kids and the new models coming up, it’s uplifting.”
