Moment Burglar Is Foiled by 'Home Alone-Style' Trap
A serial burglar was thwarted by a “Home Alone-style trap” as he tried to enter a home in Northumbria, England,with the failed attempt caught on camera.Northumbria Police released the footage on February 19. They said Paul Howell attempted to gain entry to the property in the early hours of November 9, but little did he know that the owners had set a trap following a number of recent attempted burglary reports.The simple contraption was made up of a thin string attached to their wall intertwined with a full bucket of cold water.Howell sprung the trap before fleeing the scene, and the overturned bucket led to the occupants checking their CCTV footage days later, reporting it to police.The burglar was soon arrested and charged for the offence as well as two separate burglary offences at another address in the area.
