There's a lot at stake for Michigan voters, considering the state is one of the seven key swing states that could help decide the 2024 presidential election. For many, though, their most pressing concern? Getting a coveted werewolf "I Voted" sticker. Before the polls even opened, Western Michigan's Ottawa County Election Supervisor Katie Bard told local news station Fox 17, "We probably get five calls a day at our office just about this. And I know our locals are also getting a lot of calls." Demand is so high for the "unhinged" drawing, which is one of 4 million unique stickers, along with other winning designs, being distributed to the 7.2 million active registered voters, that a single sticker is even being sold on eBay for $36, WGRD 97.9 reports.
Jane Hynous, 12, of Grosse Pointe, drew the werewolf ripping off its shirt in front of an American flag. She based her work on a meme and, according to the New York Times, “didn’t want to do something that usually you think of when you think of Michigan." Her sketch is one of nine chosen works from Michigan's sticker design contest, which was held in the spring and received 57,700 public votes, according to the Michigan Department of State. Another winner, 10-year-old Katelyn Stouffer-Hopkins, created the "I'm Cool I Voted" sticker. "It made me feel incredibly happy because I made this," the elementary schooler told Fox 17 of getting selected from the 480 submissions. "My friends at school know that I'm famous."
Michigan's contest went viral, yet it's not the first kid-designed sticker to make headlines. A surreal-looking purple spider sticker, courtesy of the Ulster County, N.Y., competition, made the internet lol during the 2022 midterm elections. There's also Kentucky's "Lizard Man," which lost to a horse illustration.
Contests like these are held throughout the United States to inspire young people to engage in the democratic process — and make it fun for all. From a smiling cat giving a thumbs-up to a llama wearing rainbow sunglasses, here are some of the best Election Day stickers.
Last minute polling out of Iowa appears to have rattled Donald Trump, who was initially projected to win the deep-red Hawkeye State. The GOP presidential nominee slammed unfavorable numbers for his campaign released Saturday and accused the pollster Ann Selzer, who is regarded as being highly accurate with last-minute polling in Iowa, of being a “Trump hater.” “No President has done more for FARMERS, and the Great State of Iowa, than Donald J. Trump. In fact, it’s not even close! All polls, exce

Herschel Walker, the retired NFL running back and failed GOP Senate candidate, stumbled over his words in his first political appearance of the 2024 election cycle, asking voters to cast their ballots for Donald Trump Jr. before quickly realizing his error and urging voters to vote for Trump Jr.’s father instead. “Let us not let Donald Trump down, because he’s not going to let us down,” Walker implored supporters in in Macon, Georgia–his home state–in a brief speech that lasted just under six mi
Dana Bash ran out of patience while pressing Republican Sen. Tim Scott about Donald Trump and his pals' recent hints that this election may already be subject to voter fraud. The CNN host demanded to know whether Trump would honor the results of the election in the event of defeat, but the South Carolina senator neatly sidestepped the repeated questioning. “One of Donald Trump‘s allies, Steve Bannon, who was released from prison this week, told the New York Times that Trump should simply declare

Former President Trump told ABC News on Sunday that he could imagine losing the presidential election to Vice President Harris. Donald Trump won’t succeed if he tries to stir a violent overthrow of the 2024 presidential election results for one “essential” reason—he’s not in power, Kamala Harris’ senior campaign officials said Sunday. One senior Democratic political operative said the campaign is “ready for it” and “won’t be surprised” if Trump repeats his 2020 playbook, especially after he declared earlier Sunday that he “shouldn’t have left the White House” after Joe Biden defeated him. “Currently we have a president i
MAGA World fixture Roger Stone excoriated former president Donald Trump‘s racist pal Laura Loomer on Sunday for attacking the Republican nominee’s leading surrogate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as a scammer. The right-wing scuffle kicked off when Loomer accused Kennedy—who abandoned an independent bid for president in August to endorse Trump—of using funds he said were raised to help Trump to pay off his own campaign’s debts. Stone called Loomer‘s claim “false” and claimed, in a tweet, that he was awar
Pete Buttigieg sat in the center of a circle of 25 undecided Michigan voters in a new video released the day before the 2024 election, as each of them brought their views—some well-informed and others fueled by internet misinformation—and asked him to change their minds. “I know that I’m simultaneously speaking to some people who come at this from a more conservative perspective and are deciding whether to go for Trump even though they’re not sure, others who are coming from a more left of cente
The Iowa pollster who surprised pundits and politicians alike over the weekend with a poll showing Kamala Harris leading Donald Trump in the state said the poll was indicative of a modern reality: abortion has rallied Democrats. NBC gave Donald Trump’s campaign commercial time free of charge during Sunday’s NASCAR playoff race, an exchange made to stay compliant with the Federal Communication Commission’s “equal time” rule, according to a new report in The Hollywood Reporter. The former president took advantage of the situation by airing an ad immediately following the race, in which he spoke directly to the camera while intoning about an economic “depression” that he predicted would come if Vice President Kamala Harris
