Folks. It's happening. Backyard Sports is seriously coming back.

All my 90s babies out there, rejoice. The company that brought us hits like Backyard Baseball, Backyard Football and more is bringing Backyard Sports back. Our homie Pablo Sanchez is coming back to a game system near you.

Since we're getting this classic back, I thought now might be as good a time as ever to pine for the return of some of the other gems from or youth.

Here's a list of eight games that somebody out there absolutely needs to consider bringing back. The hits are waiting, y'all! Somebody get on this.

NBA Street

Man. There was nothing like NBA Street back in the day — especially Volume 2. When you heard the beginning of T.R.O.Y come through the speakers of that little tube TV, you knew exactly what time it was.

For those of you who aren't hip, this was the game that basically imagined what it'd be like if all the dudes who didn't make it to the league because of "politics" would've looked like against NBA Superstars. Homies like Stretch, Bonafide, Whitewater and more used to absolutely COOK NBA legends.

This game was incredible.

NFL Street

NFL Street probably didn't have the same creativity put into it pound for pound as NBA Street far as the story and presentation goes, but this game might've been more fun. It was like playing Madden in the Matrix or something. You could run on walls, y'all!

Look at this:

I don't know how this game could be brought back today, but somebody definitely needs to do it.

NBA Jam

There was actually already a remake of NBA Jam a few years ago that was honestly pretty good! Somebody needs to bring it back again. I need to dunk fired up basketballs.

NFL Blitz The League

NFL Blitz: The League was basically what would happen if you fused Madden with Grand Theft Auto III back in the day. This game literally could not be made today — it's way too violent. And, yes, I know we're talking about football. That was the type of game Blitz was.

I wish we could get it back, though. This was so fun to play. The injury cutscenes were so over-the-top and ridiculous.

Plus, the campaign mode of the game made it a bit more immersive. It was essentially Madden's Superstar mode before Superstar mode existed — albeit way more violent and ridiculous.

We'll never get a game like this again, but man. It'd be fun if we could.

And1 Streetball

I hope you didn't sleep on And1 Streetball back in the day. You youngins out there probably don't remember And1, but, man. This league was like the physical manifestation of everything you imagine streetball to be. In fact, you probably imagine it that way because that's what the And1 Mixtape Tour was.

It was basically a traveling group of street hoopers like Air Up There, The Professor, Skip To My Lou and more who went to gyms around the country to play ball. It was fantastic. And they made it into a video game that was also fantastic.

You could do all the wild dribble moves, dunks, flashy passes and everything else they did on tour.

I miss this so, so much, man.

SSX Tricky

SSX Tricky was so good, man. It was an extreme snowboarding game that leaned into being so cartoonish that it made it difficult for you to put the game down.

You'd race, do the most outlandish tricks, punch your opponents off of their snowboards to slow them down and tackle the biggest mountains in the world in the span of three or four minutes. This was great.

Outside of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise, there's not a better extreme sports game out there.

MVP Baseball

MVP Baseball was such a cool game. It was a baseball simulation game that also felt so much like a slice of life, you know? You could play as an MLB team or a minor league team. The game felt so realistic for what we had at the time. The audience in the stands had so much life. The fields looked great. The crowd reactions were awesome.

My favorite part was plunking. Batters would literally charge the mound. It was great.

The MLB: The Show games pretty much have baseball on lock at this point. And those games are really good — don't get me wrong! I just miss this so much.

Def Jam Vendetta

The Def Jam series was basically like bringing Celebrity Death Match to game consoles everywhere. This was a wrestling game, except it was just for rappers.

You could play as Ludacris, DMX, 50 Cent and so much more. It was so ridiculous, but my 11 year old brain loved every single minute of it.
