Baby Leighton is trying solids for the first time!
In a clip shared with PEOPLE ahead of this week's episode of 7 Little Johnstons, Liz Johnston can be seen introducing her baby Leighton, whom she shares with her boyfriend Brice Bolden, to solid food for the very first time.
“What is she doing? She’s spitting it out," Brice asks as Liz tries to spoon some food into her daughter's mouth.
“Yeah, that’s normal. A lot of it is going to be … she’s going to push it out," Liz replies.

In a confessional, Liz explains why the couple is so excited for their daughter to start eating solid food.
“It’s pretty exciting that she gets to have a chance to try some real food because that means she’s getting older," the proud mom says. "And as she’s starting to get bigger, Leighton has rolled from her belly to her back one time. So we’re catching on with the rolling over.”
Brice adds that Leighton's been laughing, which Liz agrees has been a major milestone.
“Yeah, laughing. That’s super sweet. And then talking. Oh, we talk. We make lots of noises,” Liz says.
Back in the scene, Liz continues to try to get her baby to eat some solid foods, causing Brice to say the food looks like grits.
“It’s grits!” Liz insists.
“No, it’s not grits,” Brice replies. “Yes it is,” Liz says.
The scene switches to a group confessional with some of Liz's siblings, who share what food they're most excited for baby Leighton to try.
“Some of the stuff that I’m excited to introduce Leighton to is probably just like anything Italian, probably like spaghetti or Alfredo, something like that," Alex says. "Just to show her, to see how she likes it."
Emma shares she's looking forward to her niece trying Chinese food or sushi, while Anna says she wants Leighton to try "all the pastas."
"Cause babies eating pastas are so cute,” she explains. “Cause half of it is on their face, half of it is on the floor. Some of it is in their mouth.”
Liz and Brice then answer in their own joint confessional, with the dad saying there's one food in particular he wants his daughter to love.
“I love fried chicken. I’m sure it’s something Leighton will love, too,” Brice says. “And will probably ask us all the time to make.”
“No, cause you’re going to be like, ‘Leighton, go tell mom to make this.’ And I’m going to be like, ‘Hey Leighton, tell your Daddy not tonight,' " Liz jokes.
7 Little Johnstons airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
