We get it. Sometimes, you just don't feel like cooking. Usually, Walmart’s Great Value brand has some decent frozen meals you can eat during those moments. Poblano enchiladas, anyone?

But along with the good products, there are some not-so-great products you may want to avoid. We scoured a few Reddit threads to learn which Great Value frozen products customers typically avoid and why.

1. Great Value Frozen Pasta Meals

One Great Value food category many Redditors steer clear of is Great Value brand pasta meals. Not only did one person say they are "horrible" (especially the Pesto Cheese Tortellini and the Beef Stroganoff), but they also added, "They are so plain that no amount of seasoning can save them."

If you're looking for quality frozen pasta meals to get dinner on the table quickly, we think Trader Joe's might be the better option. Here, you can find a bag of frozen spaghetti carbonara for less than $5, which can be heated up on the stovetop or in the microwave for a quick but decadent meal.

2. Great Value Ice Cream

Many are giving Walmart's ice cream offerings a thumbs down. On another Reddit thread, someone said, "The ice cream is a no for me...it's lacking in flavor and texture." Oh, and there's also the whole issue of the ice cream sandwiches not melting.

However, Costco is one retailer that won't disappoint in the store-brand ice cream department. Fans call Kirkland Signature Premium Vanilla Ice Cream creamy and thick with a "borderline cold stone texture." One customer said it's "one of the strongest vanilla flavors I've had in an ice cream."

3. Great Value Frozen Bagel Bites and Pizza Rolls

Many also agreed that the Walmart Great Value brand's bagel bites and pizza rolls are not worth it. One Redditor said, "Great value version of Bagel Bites are a letdown. The sauce is okay, but the cheese feels cheap." Someone else added, "The GV pizza rolls taste like the box they come in," and another replied that they have "banned" these rolls from their home.

Sometimes, when you crave those nostalgic comfort snacks from earlier days, you have to go straight to the original source or try making them yourself, which we think is always a good option. Not only are these mini bagel bites super easy to make, but there are also other fun iterations, such as everything bagel bites that can be made in the air fryer.

4. Great Value Frozen Broccoli

While one person noted they typically buy frozen veggies from Walmart, another noted they tend to avoid frozen broccoli since it can be "tough, fibrous, and sometimes totally inedible." They added, "It doesn't matter if it's chopped, florets, or whatever. Every bag has some amount of inedible product in it."

So, where should you buy your frozen broccoli? The Kirkland Signature Organic Broccoli Florets are a favorite among chefs nationwide, thanks to being pre-washed and pre-chopped. If chefs are heading to Costco for this freezer staple, we think it's probably a safe bet.

5. Great Value Frozen Egg Rolls

If you're looking to save money on frozen egg rolls when the mood strikes, one commenter says it's probably worth the money to stick with the name brand: "I find that the Great Value egg rolls taste...horrible, so I just get the Taipei ones lol."

We say skip the frozen egg rolls altogether and opt for Aldi's fun egg roll-in-a-bowl, a favorite among fans looking for a cheap and quick dinner. Sautéed ground turkey is tossed with rice and the prepared Little Salad Bar Chopped Asian Salad Kit for all the right flavors without any fried rolls to worry about.
