ALDI has some of the best frozen snacks year-round—its mozzarella sticks, mini quiche, and potstickers are some of my family’s go-to appetizers. With a big game day full of hosting and snacking just around the corner, I set out to try a ton of ALDI’s freezer staples and find our favorite.

Among all the new—and new to us—freezer finds I taste tested, one unique snack actually knocked our socks off and became an instant family favorite: Casa Mamita Stuffed Nachos.

ALDI's Casa Mamita Stuffed Nachos

Price: $3.99 for a 14-ounce box

Why I Love It: The flavorful stuffed nachos crisp up beautifully in the air fryer or oven. They’re the perfect game-day snack, especially when served with guacamole, salsa, and other nacho bar fixings.

ALDI’s Casa Mamita Stuffed Nachos Are Game Day Perfection

Among the great game day standards that ALDI stocks in its freezer section, like buffalo chicken dip and stuffed pretzels, Casa Mamita Stuffed Nachos deliver flavor and fun. They come in two flavors: Queso and Beef & Cheese. The packaging markets these as “breaded stuffed nachos” and includes directions for conventional oven cooking and air frying. A 14-ounce box is roughly 20 nachos and costs just $3.99.

We tried both flavors and split air frying and baking the two varieties. The "nacho" is more like a fried wonton in texture but holds a small amount of filling and a thick coating of seasoned breading incredibly well. Air frying was faster and gave us a crispier nacho-like exterior, but you can bake more of these at once in a conventional oven. Both crisped and browned nicely, and the tortilla chip shape of these pockets made them exciting on the serving platter and had more surface area to get crunchy while cooking.

It is honestly hard to choose a favorite between the two flavors! Queso is more cheese-forward, with bits of peppers, onions, and tomatoes throughout. The cheesy filling is piquant and nicely spicy. The Beef & Cheese flavor is more beef-forward, with just enough cheese to hold the filling together. They have a rich beef flavor with a slight kick from the spicy cheese to keep these bites from being one note.

I served these stuffed nachos with homemade guacamole, jarred salsa, and queso from ALDI. For game day, I’m also planning to add some shredded iceberg lettuce, sour cream, and pickled jalapeños to drive home the nacho experience of eating these perfect little snack bites.
