This $25.7 Million Retreat Is One of the Priciest Homes on the Florida Panhandle
While Malibu, Miami, and the Hamptons have no shortage of celebrity residents and visitors, there are a lot of A-listers who quietly flock to the low-key seclusion and white sand beaches of the Florida Panhandle, along the southern shore of Walton County and the Santa Rosa Beach area in particular. Famous names who have owned homes or vacationed in the area include American Idol judge Luke Bryan, who had an oceanfront mansion until a few months ago, along with Sheryl Crow, Jason Aldean, Britney Spears, John Grisham, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
In Seagrove, an exclusive two-mile-long community along the Gulf of Mexico, a one-of-a-kind coastal retreat is available for $25.65 million, making it one of the priciest residential properties currently on the market on the Florida Panhandle. Known as Lasata, not to be confused with Jackie Kennedy’s former Hamptons home of the same name, the seaside oasis on Highway 30A is being offered up by entrepreneur Jay Geier, founder and CEO of the Georgia-based Scheduling Institute.

“This custom masterpiece offers a lifestyle of matchless sophistication and comfort, with breathtaking water vistas from nearly every room that embodies the tranquil essence of its name, Lasata — ”place of peace,’” writes the listing, which is being held by Chris Abbott of Scenic Sotheby’s International Realty.

Erected in 2019, the palatial pad is nestled atop a 36-foot bluff overlooking the Gulf. The home was designed by architects at T.S. Adams Studio and built with the help of Davis Dunn Construction, while Atlanta-based designer Beth Webb was tapped to tackle the interiors. Offering plenty of room for family and guests, the five-story spread measure a whopping 7,828 square feet with six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, and three half baths. “The main residence is a masterclass in refined coastal living,” adds the listing.
The first floor is entered through an arched doorway and opens up to a dramatic foyer with lots of custom millwork and natural light. The living, dining, and kitchen areas here are laid out in an open concept with a coffered ceiling and stone tile floors. A wall of floor-to-ceiling glass windows makes for perfect indoor-outdoor entertaining without compromising the views, while the kitchen is decked out with custom cabinetry by Kingdom Woodworks, marble counters and back splashes, a butler’s pantry, and a suite of top-of-the-line appliances.

Upstairs, the entire second floor is dedicated to the primary suite. Special features of the all-white retreat include a private beach-facing balcony, walk-in closets, and dual bathrooms. Additional guest rooms can be found on the third level, along with an office, and on the top floor, a huge, wood-paneled recreation room under a vaulted ceiling with a swanky bar, a fireside lounge, and a beach-view billiards area that opens onto a terrace. The far-reaching vistas are the main attraction from this room, but for the best vantage point of all, a spiral staircase winds up to a bridge that traverses the capacious room and leads to a rooftop observation deck.
Back downstairs, the flat backyard includes a zero-edge plunge pool and spa, a covered patio with TV mounted above a fireplace, an al fresco dining deck, and a wee patch of turf with a line of sun beds facing the Gulf of Mexico. A private stairway leads down to the white sand beach.
