The 24-year-old encouraging women to embrace their curves
Finya Hohner is spreading an empowering message of self love on social media by celebrating everything she loves about her curvaceous figure in a series of Instagram posts.
The 24-year-old, who works as a plus size model in New York, is on a mission to redefine what it means to be beautiful after initially thinking she was ‘too big’ to make it in the industry.
“I used to starve myself to lose weight and to be a smaller size. I also never felt one-hundred percent beautiful because my stomach was too big as well as my hips and thighs,” Finya said.
However this negative mindset was only doing more harm than good, which led Finya to decide to stop setting unrealistic expectations for her body and accept that no one size or shape is perfect.
“I feel like it’s much better for your inner peace to fully accept yourself and the body you are born with. That’s why I like to promote and encourage others to accept and love the body.”
“I can honestly say that I love embracing my body and my looks,” she said.
“My goal is to become a plus size or curvy model and wear clothes that are not necessarily shown by models my size; clothes that are skin-tight for example.”
Finya has become a big believer in the idea that ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’ and she communicates this message on a regular basis to her 43K followers on Instagram.
“You must always believe in yourself and not let the media, news, movies etc. control what you are supposed to look like,” she said.
“I believe it is very important to teach children and teenagers that however they look like is beautiful and also teach them to fully accept themselves as they are.”

Finya now hopes her message will not only encourage people to accept their bodies but also prove that “any woman that wants to be a model can go for it, it doesn’t matter the shape or size of her body.”
