'1000-Lb Sisters' Star Tammy Slaton Shares Inspiring Message About Relatable 'Battle'
Tammy Slaton is getting candid about her mental health in the hopes of helping others.
In her latest social media post, the 1000-Lb Sisters star shared an honest update about her health journey and specifically, the toll that her "food addiction" has on her mental health.
"The mental aspect plays a significant role. Being depressed and having a food addiction, I often ate my feelings, taking out my emotions on food," she confessed in the Instagram post earlier this week, which she captioned, "🌟 The Mental Battle is Real🌟."
Slaton, who recently underwent a 500-pound weight loss, went on to say, "So many of us can relate to this struggle. It's not just about food—it's about dealing with the deeper emotional challenges we face."
"Healing starts from the inside, and I'm here to share my journey to show you that you are never alone in this fight," the 38-year-old reality star added.
Slaton's fans were immediately supportive of her "brave" message, including one Instagram user who told her, "You've done so much to help others just by being YOU."
"I'm so proud of you Tammy! You have come so far," another one of her followers gushed, while someone else added, "I love seeing you use your platform to inspire!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻."
"Tammy I am so proud of you 💜🙏🏻 you’re finally living the life you DESERVE!" another comment read.
Someone else wrote, "You girls are looking great & im excited to see you back on tv," presumably referring to Slaton's sister, Amy, who co-stars on the TLC reality series.
Season 6 of 1000-Lb Sisters is slated to premiere Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 9 p.m. EST.
