Q: Are flaky lips a sign of dehydration, or is it an actual beauty issue? How do I cure it? Dry, chapped lips can be a result of strong cold wind, long-term sun damage or even drinking too much coffee. In winter, they tend to get flakey mainly because there’s too much lip-licking going on, says WH Beauty Expert Elizabeth Dawes-Higgs. “Lips are quite a delicate region of your face, they don’t have the normal skin structure like sweat glands and hair,” explains Dawes-Higgs. She advises “a diligent lip care routine and protecting them with a really moisturising lip balm will do the trick” for the coming months. Want deeper protection?
