After months of speculation, The X Factor runner up Dean Ray has seemingly confirmed rumours of a romance with "Blackout" singer Bonnie Anderson.

The heartthrob shared a cosy snap of the pair on Instagram yesterday with the caption, "Sometimes rumours are true....."

Ray, 22, was linked to Anderson, 19, while competing on The X Factor under the mentorship of Natalie Bassingthwaighte, but remained coy when asked if they were an item.

"You can never trust rumours," he told WHO earlier this month. "Bonnie is a very cool girl. If I could end up with someone half as cool as her, I'd be a very happy guy."

As the Melbourne rocker embarks on a solo career after placing second to 15-year-old X Factor winner Marlisa Punzalan on Oct. 20, his new girlfriend may be able to offer some useful advice. Having taken time out following her 2007 Australia's Got Talent win at just 12, the power vocalist relaunched her career in June with an ARIA gold-certified single "Blackout" and vampy new look, and toured around Australia with English singer Olly Murs.
