Vicki Kotsirilos

Dr Vicki Kotsirilos is a holistic GP and founding president of the Australasian Integrative Medicine Association.

Q. What does being healthy mean to you?

Maintaining a regular healthy lifestyle that supports good health—going to bed early, walking daily for exercise, getting enough sunshine and fresh air, being regularly in touch with nature, eating well, stopping for a cup of tea, resting and meditating daily. All these strategies help me to feel energetic, feel good, stay well, enjoy and love life, and better cope with stressful times.

Q. What is your wellbeing wish for Australian women 40+?

More self-care, an awareness of prevention strategies to avoid illness, and an embrace of positive lifestyle changes to support good ongoing health throughout their lives.

Q. What is it that excites you about being a part of Prevention?

The focus of Prevention resonates with my own philosophy and approach to life, and is exactly what I promote among my patients. Better to 'prevent' an illness than to suffer it.
