Is matching my make-up to my clothes outdated?


A:

Yes, about as much as shoulder pads circa 1982! Using colours that are too dark or too pale for your complexion just because they match your outfit can make you look garish or washed-out. To create a glow and soften fine lines, wear make-up shades that complement your skin tone. For instance, if you’re fair, choose a blush that’s sandy pink; if you’re medium, one that’s brownish pink; or if you’re dark, a deep rose.
