Gwyneth Paltrow got "drunk" when filming Country Strong

The 38-year-old actress – who used to adhere to a strict macrobiotic diet – claims it was “awesome” getting into character to portray an alcoholic singer in the movie, though she admits her approach wasn’t very professional.

She quipped: "You just get really drunk all the time. Which is awesome! At least I did anyway, it's not very professional. There's a Bloody Mary at 10 am and keep it going all day!

"It was actually very liberating and amazing to play somebody who just didn't think about consequences because I'm so responsible with my life, and too worried about everybody and my kids and where's everybody going.”

Gwyneth – who has two children, Apple, six, and four-year-old Moses, with her 33-year-old husband Chris Martin – has starred opposite a string of hunky actors in her movies, including Jude Law and former fiance Brad Pitt, but says Tom Cruise was her favourite co-star.

She told TV talk show host Rachael Ray in an episode due to air tomorrow: "I did a little cameo at the beginning of Austin Powers 3, I think it was, and I got to make out with Tom Cruise. He was an amazing kisser!"
