Royal wedding secrets revealed

As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrate their first anniversary, hairdressers James Pryce and Richard Ward have opened up about getting Middleton ready for the much-anticipated royal wedding.

Ward told People Magazine that seven stylists arrived at 5:30 a.m. at the Goring Hotel that morning to help Middleton look like a perfect bride.

He said he could hear the crowd buzzing from their hotel, recalling: "The window was open and we could just hear the crowds outside, it was bizarre and surreal."

Ward also revealed that Prince William was there to help out with the wedding preparation.

He explained: "I wanted to show Kate the back of her hair and I was struggling to walk with this 500-year-old mirror, and he just said, 'Let me give you a hand,' and I said, 'No, no, honestly,' but he took one end and I've got the other and we're shuffling along with this mirror – he's great, he really is."

Pryce told Britain's Daily Mail that Middleton's hair 'was always going to be a real focal point on the wedding day', adding: "She had a clear idea of how she wanted her hair to look.

"She wanted it half-up, half-down, as she knew her face had to be properly seen. There was talk of her wearing flowers in her hair but in the end it was decided that a tiara would be more suitable."

After all the preparation, the hairstylists were stunned by Middleton's final look. Ward told People: "When she got out of the car and I saw her properly in the dress, the whole thing. I couldn't even speak, she looked so unbelievable."
