Rachel McAdams Cringes At Her Audition For The Notebook

Rachel McAdams was forced to take a trip down memory lane when the hosts of the US Today show pulled out her audition tape for The Notebook.

The 33-year old, who starred in the hit film alongside Ryan Gosling 10 years ago, was reportedly the only 'no-name' actress to be considered for the role, with her audition "blowing the directors" (and Gosling) away (watch below).

Still, McAdams visibly recoiled when Today host Matt Lauer pressed play on her audition tape.

"Why are you cringing?" Lauer asked McAdams, who'd never watched the tape before. "You got the part. It worked out well! Nicely done!"

“Awww, thanks guys!" Rachel responded.

Lauer then confessed to being a huge fan of the movie, saying he sobbed all the way through it.

"Embrace it! I love that, it's very sweet," McAdams replied. "Men want to confess that they cried and it felt good, and it's a lovely thing," she admitted.

While McAdam’s audition for The Notebook might have been successful, fans are still lamenting her now defunct relationship with Ryan Gosling, who recently announced he's about to become a dad.
