Karl Lagerfeld Hates Your Selfies

He might be the proud owner of ten different Ipads, but you'll never catch Karl Lagerfeld on social media - or taking selfies.

The 81-year old creative director of Chanel shared his thoughts on the digital age with WWD, saying he doesn't want anyone to share his private life.

"I have no desire to share anything with unknown persons," said Lagerfeld, despite the fact that his own cat, Choupette, has her own Instagram account (though admittedly, it's run by a fan).

"Those social networks, there's something sad about them," he continued. "Is it because they don't have enough knowledge about friends and people? I don't understand it. It's like a talkative mirror where people talk to themselves. And what I hate most in life is selfies."

Oh, and he also hates fashion blogs.

Lagerfeld isn't known for his diplomacy - the affectionately referred to 'uncle' of the fashion industry has almost made a career out of his brazen, often hilarious quotes.
