Lady Gaga’s latest beauty secret is ‘Dragon’s Blood’, a new product being called the ‘liquid facelift’. The singer is reported to have been using the revolutionary product in the lead up to the Golden Globes.

Dragon’s Blood, made from the red resin of a number of different trees including the South American Sangre de Gardo, claims to make skin look younger without resorting to injections.

The sculpting gel promises to add volume to sagging skin and improve its elasticity.

In its natural form, Dragon’s Blood has been used in medicine for centuries. The ancient Romans used it to treat respiratory and gastrointestinal ailments, while an eighteenth century toothpaste recipe listed it as an ingredient.

Dragon’s Blood is the latest addition to the extreme beauty trend that celebs swear by. Last year reports that the Duchess of Cambridge’s luminous complexion was in part thanks to purified bee venom, described as an ‘holistic Botox’, saw the product fly off the shelves in the UK.

Another product dubbed ‘Botox in a bottle’ is a snake serum moisturiser reportedly used by famous faces including Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss. The viper’s venom apparently has a mild freeze-like effect on the skin which reduces the appearance of wrinkles.
