Zendaya Says Working With Tom Holland Is “Like Second Nature”: “He’s So Talented & So Passionate About What He Does”
Zendaya and Tom Holland met on the Spider-Man set, and as the couple gears up to star in Christopher Nolan’s next film, the Euphoria star opens up about how it is to work alongside her partner.
In a new interview, Zendaya was asked if it was “weird acting opposite” Holland, whom she first met as they prepared to star in the Marvel and Sony superhero film.

“Not really. It’s actually strangely comfortable. It’s like second nature, if anything,” Zendaya told Vanity Fair about working with Holland. “You feel extra safe with the person you’re acting beside. I love working with him.”
She continued, “He’s so talented, and so passionate about what he does. He always gives things one thousand percent, even if he’s absolutely worn down. I really appreciate that about him. It feels pretty normal. That’s how we met. Literally, at a chemistry read.”
Zendaya and Holland starred in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and reprised their roles for the 2019 sequel Spider-Man: Far From Home and 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. The couple is set to reprise their Marvel roles in a fourth installment of the franchise, with Holland recently teasing that he had read a script for the film alongside Zendaya.
“Zendaya and I sat down and read it together and we at times were like bouncing around the living room. Like this is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect, but there [are] a few things we need to figure out before we can get that really going. But it’s exciting and I’m really, really excited about it,” Holland said on The Rich Roll podcast about the film’s script.
In addition to working on Spider-Man 4, Zendaya and Holland will star in Nolan’s new film at Universal, which is set to be released in 2026. The couple will share credits with Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway and Lupita Nyong’o, among many others.
