She welcomed her second daughter Lena in June, but Zara Tindall has revealed she suffered a second miscarriage while she and husband Mike were trying for another baby.
Zara, who is the Queen’s granddaughter, revealed in 2016 she had suffered a miscarriage following the birth of her first daughter Mia in 2014.
The 37-year-old has now opened up about another miscarriage she suffered “really early on”, which she chose to mourn privately with her family.
“I think you need to go through a time where you don’t talk about it because it’s too raw,” she told The Sunday Times Magazine.
“But as with everything, time’s a great healer.”
Zara, who has been married to former rugby star Mike since 2011, had her pregnancies announced publicly due to her royal ties.
It left the mum struggling when she was then forced to reveal she had lost the baby.
“We had to tell everyone and it’s like, everyone knows – that’s the hardest bit,” she told The Sunday Times Magazine.
“That’s why I think a lot of people don’t talk about it because [a miscarriage] can happen early enough or it’s only your group of friends and your family that know.”
There was one silver lining to the situation, with Zara and her husband inundated with letters of support from other parents who had gone through the same situation.
