Life has been perfect for newlyweds, and Yellowstone costars Hassie Harrison, 34, and Ryan Bingham, 43.

"Newlywed life has been an absolute dream," Harrison tells PEOPLE. "Ryan and I have had a whirlwind year work-wise, but supporting each other has made it all the more special."

The couple, who play onscreen lovers Walker and Laramie in the western drama, delighted fans when they made their real-life love public in 2023 and then made it official with a 'black-tie cowboy'- themed wedding in Dallas last May.

Now the duo are getting ready to celebrate their first Christmas as husband and wife.

"I’m all about tradition," Harrison says of their plans. "I grew up in a very sentimental family where the holidays were filled with special moments, and I love carrying that on." The Los Angeles-based couple will head to Harrison's home state to be with family.

"This year, we’re taking our crew to Texas, and then we’ll see where the New Year takes us," she says.

Bingham, who was a bull rider in his teens and is now a Grammy-award-winning singer-songwriter, also mostly grew up around the Southwest. He was previously married to actress and filmmaker Anna Axster, with whom he shares three children. They divorced in 2021 after 12 years of marriage.

"My love for movies and making people laugh has always been at the heart of my love for acting," she says. "I vividly remember being a little girl and watching Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau in Grumpier Old Men. It was the funniest thing I had ever seen, and from that moment on, there was no turning back—I was hooked the second I realized you actually could do that for a living."
