'Yellowstone' Fans Call Out Season 5 Trailer for Being "Misleading"
Yellowstone fans can hardly contain their excitement for the November 10 premiere of the highly-anticipated second installment of Season 5. After the latest promo clip, though, many are left scratching their heads.
On Tuesday, October 22, Cole Hauser took to Instagram with an all-new promo clip to share in the excitement leading up to the Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 premiere. The short clip is filled with heart-pounding drama, shocking collaborations, fiery explosions, and to fans' shock, even a few John Dutton (Kevin Costner) sightings.
Earlier this year, Kevin revealed on Instagram that he was too tied up in other projects to be present in Season 5 Part 2. As such, fans came to terms (or tried to, at least) with the fact that one of their favorite characters may never return to the screen. Now, viewers aren’t sure what to think.
“Kevin Costner is not in this season yet they’re using him in teasers,” one fan questioned in Cole’s comments. “Using old clips of Costner to try and sell the new series to fans is wild,” someone else remarked. “So is John Dutton in this season or no? I hear he isn't coming back,” another fan commented. Another put it bluntly: "If Costner's not going to be in the SHOW don't put him in the trailer!!!"
"It’s pathetic how you still use Costner’s old clip in the 'official trailer' when he’s not gonna be in Part 2," a fan commented, while another added, " It’s misleading they keep using his old clips when he’s not even in it."
Earlier this month, Kevin chatted with Entertainment Tonight, revealing that he wasn’t sure his story was over just yet. Was he hinting toward a surprise appearance in Season 5 Part 2 after all—or is the series using past clips of him to keep viewers coming back? Only time will tell!
