Xuly Bët Brings Joy and Funk for Spring 2025
Xuly Bët designer Lamine Badian Kouyaté took over a shopping arcade in Paris for a celebration of music and fashion for the people.
Models carried ’80s-style retro boom boxes covered in bright paint blasting music as they walked in a narrow lane squished between standing guests.

The lineup was fun, everyday clothes for those who like to have fun and don’t care what others think.
Standouts included a black dress with gold crustacean motifs, logo denim jackets and jeans, floral shirts, patterned puffers, bombers in African-influenced prints, baseball shirts repurposed as size-inclusive dresses and T-shirts that read “Xuly Bët Funkin’ Fashion Factory.”
The show production might have felt a bit all over the place, but the audience had fun. When a model with a sky-high mohawk appeared, they cheered. The sensual dresses got lots of attention from the crowd, too, with some whistling and clapping.
