Halloween is one of the only scheduled nights of the year where partygoers can dress as they please — no matter how outlandish.

But some shoppers have been left shocked by a seemingly innocent holiday accessory which appeared rather explicit upon further inspection.

The costume piece in question is decorative latex 'scar' which aims to make revellers appear all gored-up, in line with the night’s tradition.

However, the pink stream of blood around the fake wound instead made the decorative piece resemble a vagina.

Divisive gash

The hilarious gaffe was pointed out by a festive shopper in a Facebook thread where it quickly attracted a stream of cheeky comments.

“Glad you said it's Home Bargains, I thought it was Ann Summers," wrote one user in reference to the British sex toy and lingerie store.

“Must admit my first thoughts were not Halloween related.”

“I’m not the only one. I thought I was being a pervert,” another person added.

However, others weren’t so quick to find humour and instead called for it to be banned.

“Disgusting! It should be removed from the shelves. Young kiddies just think it’s a deep wound but adults know what it looks like,” another person quipped.

Despite calls for its removal, the accessory remains on sale at Home Bargains in the UK.
