X-rated detail on nan's Christmas jumper goes viral

A grandmother was left red-faced after realising a bargain Christmas jumper she bought featured a very rude design.

Carolyn Hallam purchased her festive reindeer outfit from a car boot sale in her hometown of Nottingham, in the UK, for just 80c (50p) and was excited to show it off. But can you spot the X-rated design?

The grandmother-of-three couldn't believe her eyes when she discovered it featured multiple sets of reindeers who appear to be having sex with each other.

Her daughter Abigail Hallam thought it was so funny she shared photos of the jumper on social media.

“She picked it up and had a quick look and realised it was a Christmas jumper so she thought it would be okay to wear for work. She put it in her plastic bag and didn't think anything of it till she got home,” Abigail told Jam Press.

“She then tried it on and proudly asked me' do you like my Christmas cardigan?'

“I didn't notice at first and said 'ooh yes, it's lovely' then she asked what I thought of the pattern and I burst out laughing!”

The post left people in stitches, racking up nearly 2,000 likes so far, with many people online who commented on the post saying they ‘love’ the funny pattern.

“Took me a minute,” commented one person.

“Omg that's hilarious,” added someone else.

“That is priceless! Thanks for the laugh!” wrote another person.

Thankfully, Carolyn, who works as a teaching assistant, was able to see the funny side of the situation.

Abigail added: “When mum realised it was actually a rude Christmas jumper, she laughed out loud and thought it was hilarious.

“She was relieved that she saw what was on it before wearing it to work in a primary school! After we realised it was rude she was even more pleased with her bargain!”

Though now Carolyn will be opting for a more appropriate for work but the naughty reindeer jumper is still her favourite.

Of course it’s not the first Christmas jumper to go viral for featuring a rather cheeky pattern.

Last year, shoppers spotted a ‘rude’ detail in the black and red snowflake pattern of the ‘Felicity Fairisle Jumper’ by Brit clothing brand FatFace.

Sharing images of the jumper on Mumsnet, one woman wondered, “I don't think they really thought though pattern. Or maybe they did for the niche market of those who think knitwear isn't complete without a line of boobs across it”.

And over in the US, department store Walmart had to apologise after stocking a controversial sweater sold on Walmart.ca that depicted a bug-eyed Santa celebrating next to what appear to be lines of cocaine, with ‘Let It Snow’ — a reference to the drug’s street name — written below.
