This could be the worst ‘flatmate wanted’ ad of all time

New year new… flatmate anyone?

We all know that finding the perfect roomie can be hard work but one person has taken things to the next level by posting an ad with a lengthy list of unreasonable requirements.

So much so, they may have even taken out the title for having the worst ‘flatmate wanted’ advert of all time.

In an ad posted this year titled, ‘Vegan roommate wanted’ the unknown advertiser stated they’re looking for someone to share a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with.

“Roommate must be a vegan (NOT vegetarian) who is responsible, mature, quiet and independent,” the ad said.

“Must work full time and have excellent credit. Being CLEAN and educated is also a must (bachelor’s degree or higher).

The listing goes on to detail that the prospective new roomie must eat only “100% vegan” inside the apartment — a rule that also applies to all guests — and also stated anyone who loves sugar need not apply.

“I eat 100% sugar-free, no added sugar allowed in the house,” it stated, adding that “fruit is fine”.

Naturally, the post has gathered attention online from people who are in complete disbelief.

“Gee, I wonder how he is going to handle all the offers he is sure to get,” one user wrote.

While others teased that at least the fruit only rule meant they could still drink wine.

“I think wine is okay,” a commenter said.

Now we’re all left wondering if the person was ever successful in their quest for a new flatmate, but judging from the reactions online, we’re guessing not.
