Everyday Market from Woolworths has announced their partnership with renowned Aussie entertainer Todd Mckenney’s online marketplace Todd+Creates.
The partnership with Todd+Creates will help Woolworths shoppers to support local businesses, including entertainment professionals who have been heavily impacted by COVID-19.
Todd+Creates Co-founder, Todd McKenney said he is “so proud” to see Todd+Creates listed as the Australian business partner for brands on Everyday Market from Woolworths.
“This is a powerful message from Woolworths on their commitment to Australian businesses, and the power of ‘shopping local’,” said Mr McKenney.
“I am a passionate advocate for both our brands and for Aussie small businesses as a whole. I can’t wait for Aussie shoppers to meet their new favourite brands on Everyday Market from Woolworths. Shop Aussie!” he added.
Mr McKenney told Yahoo Lifestyle he launched the Todd+Creates platform at the beginning of lockdown with his dear friend, Sas Lyon, as a way to help out members of the theatrical industry by enlisting the help of out-of-work costume designers to make face masks.
After selling thousands of face masks, the pair expanded the business to include all Aussie-made products from small-to-medium business, such health and beauty products, pet accessories, homewares, toys, clothing, and accessories.
Woolworths 'thrilled' to partner with Todd+Creates
Everyday Market is an online marketplace designed to complement the existing food and grocery range at Woolworths.com.au.
Woolworths General Manager Everyday Market, Lance Eerhard said that the supermarket is thrilled to announce the partnership.
“We are thrilled to partner with Todd+Creates and the talented Australian small businesses that are part of the network,” said Mr Eehard.
“With this partnership we hope to provide our customers with even more opportunities to shop from local independent sellers, while also supporting businesses who have been impacted by COVID-19.”
The partnership with Todd+Creates gives Aussie shoppers access over 150 curated products from 16 independent sellers including: Tan Bomb, Pawfect Pals, Bubba Organics and Smiley Dog.
Some of the top-selling products from the Todd+Creates range on Everyday Market, include the Avilla Farm’s Everyday Essential Trio ($55), Tony & Munro’s Correcting Concealer for Men ($50.90) and Pink Hibiscus’ Amethyst Facial Spritz ($59.95).
Todd McKenney shares his favourite products from the range
Mr McKenney shared some of his favourite brands for shoppers who are looking to buy the perfect gift for loved ones this this Christmas.
He gave an honourable mention to Native Secrets, who are an Indigenous-owned-and-operated business who source all of their ingredients locally.
“Native Secrets do great skincare products and they’re sustainable. They source their ingredients for the products locally and they’re trying to regenerate parts of the landscape that have been dried out with their products. I really love the philosophy behind that,” said Mr McKenney.
The Dancing with the Stars celeb highlighted that Todd+Creates provides additional support for people with disabilities and their carers who would like to make products and sell them on the platform.
"We like to get the word out there, that if anybody with disabilities or their carers want to make some money, just know that we will give them extra special attention and support them through the whole process," he explained.
He explained that one of their biggest sellers is from an origami maker, who puts out an origami kit for people to make cranes and Christmas trees for festive decorations, saying: "They are selling like hotcakes."
The Todd+Creates range is currently available on Woolworths Everyday Market for shoppers who would like to get a head start on their Christmas shopping. However, the Christmas deadline for delivery is Wednesday 8th December.
