Woolworths, Coles shoppers go wild for $2 Batman Oreos: 'Coolest thing ever'

Superhero fans all over Australia have expressed their delight as Batman Oreos hit supermarket shelves.

You can purchase them at Woolworths and Coles supermarkets right now.

Mondelez, which owns the Oreo brand, released the limited edition cookie for the new movie The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson, scheduled to hit Australian cinemas on March 3.

Oreo has paid homage to the new DC instalment in their packaging - an Oreo cookie is shown inside the Bat Signal above Gotham city.

The limited edition 133g packs feature traditional Oreo chocolate-flavoured sandwich cookies with vanilla cream.

Rather than the traditional Oreo logo and distinctive geometric pattern, the cookies are embossed with a silhouette of the caped superhero.

TikTok delighted with new Oreo design: ‘So cute!’

Sydney food blogger @adrianwidjy posted a video to his Places in Sydney TikTok this week, and reviewed Oreo’s newest edition.

The video shows the TikTokker hunting down the new limited edition packs at a Sydney Woolworths and taking a bite out of one.

“You can find these limited edition Batman Oreos at Woolies right now,” he said.

“I got it on sale at $1.60 and it’s kind of cute!”

The TikTok, which has had 29,000 views in less than 12 hours, has attracted a bunch of comments from excited users who have been tagging their friends.

“My Dad would love these!” commented one TikTok user.

“My son will definitely be eating more Oreos then,” said another.

“That’s so cool!” wrote a third.

Twitter users have raved about Oreo's international partnership with The Batman, which gives an exclusive look at the new movie.

"This is the coolest thing ever, thank you Oreo!" Tweeted one.

"This is super cool and it's on the Oreo website!" Tweeted another.

The preview, featured on the European Oreo website, gives a sneak peek at the Bat Cave.

Oreo's international advertisement for their partnership with The Batman movie has also been getting thousands of views on YouTube.

Ultimate staycation up for grabs

Oreo Australia brand-owner Mondalez says participating retailers are running a competition for customers who purchase a pack of Batman Oreos.

Hundreds of movie tickets are up for grabs, as well as the ultimate staycation for the three lucky major prize winners who shop at Coles, as well as a city staycation.

The ultimate staycation prize includes:

• Two nights at five-star hotel accommodation with two suites and breakfast for four people

• Hotel suites themed with The Batman paraphernalia

• Half-day limo sightseeing tour

• All meals included, plus additional spending money for the winners

The promo will run through February and March 2022 at participating Coles retailers.

Participating Drakes, Ritchies and Cornetts supermarkets will also run a competition where a lucky winner has the chance to snag:

• A family holiday at the Gold Coast for four people

• An exciting Batman experience at Warner Bros. Movie World

Woolworths customers also have an exclusive opportunity to win a Samsung 55-inch television.
