Our June issue is on sale now

Women's Health June issue is on sale now.

Dang, you readers are an inspiring lot...

When you’re not impressing Team WH with your amazing recipes and uplifting real-life stories, you’re keeping us on our toes (in the plank position, natch) with your fitness journeys.

Case in point: all of you who entered our Next Fitness Star comp. We were humbled to receive so many outstanding submissions from Aussie women who are helping others achieve their fittest, happiest lives.

So flick to p76, meet our top five finalists (pictured with me above) and get set to be fitspired (is that a word yet? No?).

Speaking of fitspo, we need to talk about running. Do you rate it or hate it? You can do both.

See, I’ve created a neggie narrative at odds with the reality of my exercise routine: though I tell myself I’m not a “natural runner” and have all the grace/speed of a three-legged hyena, the fact is I subconsciously look forward to my four-times-a-week runs.

The proof is in my prep: I regularly create new running playlists, sign up for events (my next one’s the Great Whitehaven Beach Run on June 20; find yours on p128); and my credit card tingles at the thought of fresh gear (see our pick of add-to-basket loot from p118).

I doubt I’ll ever crack the 50-minute mark on a 10km – but does that even matter? I’m still raking in the endorphins, turbocharging my fitness and busting stress with every lap of my neighbourhood.

And you can, too – whether you regularly clock 10 kays or are about to take your first step, our “Three, Two, Run!” Special on p109 has everything you need to love your next run. On your marks, get set... go!
