What does life balance mean to you?

The question sparked an interesting discussion when we were planning this issue, because we all have our own take on it.

For our features director, Tara, good balance means putting as much effort into your relationships/home life as your career; for social media ed, Ashleigh, it’s about looking after your body so your head feels clear, and vice versa; and for deputy features ed, Melissa, it means doing something you love every single day. Same same, different different.

And when we put the question to some real-life women, we were both surprised and inspired; read about it on page 66.

To me, life balance is more of a state of mind than a comb oof elements – it’s that happy feeling when I’m sitting on a plane, knowing I’ve worked my bum off in the lead-up to my holiday; it’s the cocoa gooeyness of cheat day (speakingof, flick to p83 for our pick of guilt- free chocolates); or hitting my desk with a clear head after a lunch break workout (try our Total Body Tone‐Up on p48 and you’ll still have plenty of time for a sambo).

It also means writing the draft for this page ona Saturday arvo in between swims at Maroubra Beach. (True story!)

However you define it, this issue is full of life hacks and inspiration to help you find your perfect life balance – from getting more out of your workout (p34) to choosing your own spirituality adventure (p104), we’ve got you covered.
