Jesinta Campbell's bikini body tips

A conversation with Jesinta Campbell.

Jesinta Campbell is just one of those women. I first met her when she was a fresh‐faced 19 year old still beaming from her Miss Universe Australia crowning. It was 6:45am as she bounced down the stairs into the Channel Seven make‐up room rocking an effortlessly stylish TV outfit and grasping a green juice concoction.

Her enthusiasm was infectious as, on realising I was the editor of Women’s Health, she talked of her love of exercise, nutritious food and her dream of working in the media. Over the next few years we’ve caught up at media functions and the AFL Brownlow Medals – Jesinta, 23, is dating Sydney Swans superstar Buddy Franklin – and I’ve been repeatedly impressed by her friendliness and energy.

Preternaturally confident, she is, I’ve learned, more than a pretty face. Actually, you may have realised that too if you caught her on Channel Nine’s Celebrity Apprentice in 2011. She currently has the enviable job of a Getaway reporter and is an ambassador for Asics. Watch this space, as I expect big things from this Gold Coast‐ born health fiend. But for now? She’ll fill you in on where she’s at.

TO ME, SEXY MEANS
“I’ve never associated myself with the word sexy until being with [Buddy]. I’ve always been sporty and tomboyish – I wasn’t the pretty girl at school. Now being ina relationship where I’m supported on every level, I’ve come into myself. When I look at someone who oozes sexiness, they’re confident and appear to have no hang‐ups and are comfortable in their own skin – whether they’re a size 16 or 6.”

MY TAKE ON FOOD - MY GLUTEN AND DAIRY INTOLERANCE
“I’ve had it since I was 12. I pack most of my food at home and we eat dinner at home every night. If I’m on set I pack snacks or fruit. When I’m out I always ask what’s in food. I’ll speak to the chef and ask “Hey I really want this dish, I know it’s not gluten free, but what can you do?” If I have gluten it weakens my immune system, I get a runny nose, and when I wake up I feel hung‐over! Dairy is nowhere near as bad as gluten for me.”

MY FAVOURITE BREAKFAST
“Sprouted muesli with almond milk, either sheep’s or goat’s milk yoghurt, lots of berries, flaxseed oil and almonds. I also love poached eggs on toast with avocado.”

MY GO-TO LUNCH
“I like to keep it light and simple. I love salad or sashimi.”

MY EASY-AS DINNER
“Bud loves pasta before a game. I put the sauce over steamed vegies [for myself ]. I do a nice grilled salmon with vegetables.”

MY GET-OUT-THE-DOOR QUICK ROUTINE
“There was a time when I thought about the paparazzi, but I realised I can’t let them dictate my life. So I just weara mineral make‐up base, fill in my eyebrows, put on some mascara, papaw on the lips and away I go.”

MY FAIL-SAFE 3PM SNACK
“Almonds and fruit for ease, hummus and carrot sticks or a bit of chocolate.”
