Inside our December issue

Our December issue is on sale now!

We’ve just had our annual I Support Women In Sport Awards night and I’ve got to tell you, the feeling in the room was next-level inspiring.

Now in its fifth year, our campaign celebrates the top achievements of our local athletes, from the women making a difference on a grassroots level to those scoring world-class gold.

Did you know that at the London Olympics the women in the Aussie team won 20 medals, compared to the men who scored 15? It was a similar theme in Beijing, where our women took 58 per cent of the medal haul. Impressive, right?

Yep, Australia produces some of the best sportswomen in the world and it’s a privilege for us here at Women’s Health to showcase them each year – and to work alongside you, the reader, to select the winners.

Actually, this year we introduced two new categories – the Hall of Fame (awarded to the legendary Olympian Susie O’Neill) and Contribution To The Community (won by Amna Karra-Hassan, who’s taken her tireless advocacy of Muslim women to the AFL field. Amazing.).

In fact each of our winners and nominees has an important story to tell – and at Women’s Health we’re committed to sharing them with you.

So, in 2016 we’re going bigger than ever before. Over the next 12 months we’ll devote more pages to our outstanding women athletes as we travel beside them on the Road To Rio. Bring it on!
