How Pia Miller sculpts her hottest body

Actress Pia Miller, 31, is precisely how she likes her three-times-a- day latte: strong. While she’s the owner of a knockout body, flawless complexion, on-point brow game and a mean left jab, it’s her cool attitude that’s scored the TV star her 200,000-plus Insta followers, an online fashion campaign with The Iconic and yep, our September cover.

You might assume that genetically blessed TV stars are two things: precious and pampered. Not Pia. This lady knows how to work... hard.

Her day job – long shifts on the set of Home and Away playing policewoman Katrina Chapman – sees her commuting weekly to Sydney from her home in Melbourne, where she lives with her husband of seven years (former AFL player) Brad, and two sons, Izzy, 12, and Lenny, 8. (“Isaiah and Lennox when they’re in trouble.”)

Then there’s her role as an ambassador for the Cotton On Foundation’s “I Give a Brick” charity that last year raised $1 million to build a school in Uganda.

But the Chilean-born Australian doesn’t let her jam-packed schedule and first-name-basis with flight attendants interrupt her training. And that’s unpretentious, leave-you-gasping-for-air type training.

IN HER CORNER
Ranging from a tension- releasing weekend sparring sesh with long-time mate and Melbourne Football Club boxing coach Jimmy Kostaras, or a steamy evening hot yoga, her routine is anything but, well, routine. Her only non-negotiable? Keeping the mood (not the intensity) light. “It has to be fun,” she says.

To help her get her sweat on while in Sydney, she’s enlisted the body- sculpting services of 98 Riley St trainer Dan Adair (who also works with Jesinta Campbell) for HIIT to a ’90s hip hop soundtrack three to four times a week.

One-on-one training sessions are a new habit for the former model (Pia won the 1998 Dolly Model Search), but she’s always enjoyed outdoor activities, yoga and sports with her kids.

“I wouldn’t say I’m a gym junkie, though I do know my way around one now.”

Refreshingly relaxed and pragmatic about her workout goals, Pia trains for general strength and fitness, as well as better stamina, health and energy reserves.

“It’s more about how I feel than about the shape of my body. It’s a mental thing,” she admits. “If I work out early, it sees me through a day of work, commuting and kicking the footy with my kids.”

# NO FILTER
Incredible as Pia’s life looks, perfection isn’t something she’s set on. She just aspires to “do what I love,” whether that’s meditating, celebrating her one-year Home and Away work anniversary, adding to her sneaker collection, or creating a kick-ass salad. “I’m stoked with where I’m at,” she grins.

As for those salad- making skills? The self-confessed foodie loves packing them with healthy fats (“avocado is my lifelong obsession”) and protein. She’s mindful of what she eats and credits her hubby with her food- as-fuel approach. “He’s so knowledgeable about nutrition,” she says. “He’s been my number- one healthy influence.”

For Pia, being healthy is about habit (which also involves daily chocolate: “I’ll take any kind”), not deprivation. “Food is a huge part of my culture and identity. Cooking for people I care about is a love language for me." A woman who says “I love you” with bean burritos? Pia Miller, we’re punching for you.
