Three, two, run

Rachel Finch for New Balance.

Keen to improve your time or just run without stopping all the time? Follow these tips from New Balance ambassador, model and top source of #fitspo Rachael Finch to reach the finish line.

Fuel your run
“It’s important to be energised with the right fuel. Eat whole foods and avoid processed or junk foods. I like eating foods as close to their natural state as possible so that it holds most of its nutrients and give my body what it needs to push myself on a run.”

Get focused
“Focus on how great you feel while running and after. Getting in touch with our body from within makes it easier to make healthy lifestyle choices, keeping you motivated and feeling good.”

Stretch out
“The healing powers of stretching are incredible. I make this a part of my everyday life, stretching after a run or a workout and before bed every night. Even five minutes is powerful.”

Be social
“When you make a time and place to meet a friend for a workout or an outdoor run, I think you're more likely to go and give it 100%. It's also nice being able to see a friend and do something active together. Together with New Balance we have started a #girlsrunthis momentum that shares how women celebrate movement. Lots of girls are posting pictures of themselves showing us how they 'run their world', it's very inspiring!”

Add to cart
“Invest in some good quality fitness apparel. I like feeling good when I'm training and I believe it makes a big difference in the outcome of my performance. I'm very excited about a lot of the new running products New Balance are developing!”

Take time to recover
“Recovery is key! Spend time soaking in Epsom salts after your run. I love taking 15-20 minute baths every couple of weeks to allow my muscles to relax and repair. It's also good to calm the mind.”

Stay hydrated
“Drinking good quality water is good for everything; our organs, brain, skin, focus, blood, the list is endless. I prefer to drink filtered water at room temperature so it's more easily used by the body.”

Set a goal
“I love setting new goals every week - I think it's important to realign your intentions and constantly challenge yourself. They can be as little or as big as you like, but being specific is key.”

Have fun with it
“We’re privileged to be able to pound the pavement and experience the world in new ways on every run, I feel grateful for this and make my daily runs a time for fun, gratitude and challenging myself both mentally and physically.”
