Woman's 'food baby' pregnant photo is so relatable

A woman has gone viral after sharing an ‘extremely bloated’ picture of herself, musing at the fact she looked like she could be pregnant.

And it’s possibly one the most relatable images on the internet right now for many of us.

Unless of course you’re lucky and don’t ever bloat. HOW?!

Fatimah Waheeb, a student from London, shared the mirror selfie of herself in underwear and a T-shirt clutching her ‘bloated’ stomach.

“I can’t be the only one that gets extremely bloated and starts imagining myself being pregnant,” she wrote.

No you are not.

She dubbed her bloated stomach a ‘food baby’ in a Whatsapp message to her boyfriend which she also shared on the social media platform.

For comparison, the next day she posted a photo of herself where her stomach looked drastically flatter.

Fatimah’s ‘food baby’ tweet has since gone viral, receiving tens of thousands of likes and retweets.

Many have responded by sharing their own examples of food babies.

I had just eaten chicken katsu curry from Wasabi and I got super bloated which normally happens to me so it didn’t freak me out,” she told Yahoo Style UK.

“I thought it would be funny to see if any other women bloat the way I do because I hadn’t really seen anyone talk about it.

“At first I wasn’t surprised because I know it’s normal to bloat the responses have been amazing!”

If you regularly feel uncomfortably full after a big meal, there are a number of things you can do to prevent that bloated feeling.

Firstly, upping your water intake will help to counteract fluid retention. Drinking peppermint tea after meals, reducing your portion sizes and chewing properly (until your mouthful of food is liquid) will also help.
