Woman fears her best friend's fiancé is already married

A woman has asked the internet for advice after revealing she thinks her best friend’s fiancé is actually a married man, with a secret life.

Taking to parenting forum Mumsnet the woman listed all the reasons she thought her friend’s fiancé had another life. Asking if she was being unreasonable, she explained her best friend and the man in question had been together for four years.

But despite the fact the friends see each other almost every single day, the woman has only met her friend’s other half five times.

Red flag number one.

“[He] travels for work constantly. Literally comes home for 1 night every 3 weeks,” the woman explains in the post.

“He is ‘busy’ or doing very secretive stuff, because get this ….he works for the government. Like he is a spy or something.”

She also reveals that apparently he can’t tell work about their relationship because of a so-called visa issue. And their relationship is even a secret from his parents – “she’s never met them”.

“He is invisible on social media, has no account on anything,” the woman continues, adding that he says he has no holiday, works seven days a week, every week, and sometimes works 24 hours straight.

She also reveals that her friend has a two-year-old daughter, and even her mum has even told her that “she’s a fool and can’t stand to see her granddaughter have such a non existent father”.

“My friend buys all this because she loves him so much,” the woman says.

“She won’t listen to reason and has cut EVERYONE out who questioned it so I really can’t bring this up, we are all she has, seriously.

“SO! [Am I being unreasonable] to think he’s a lying sh** who probably has a wife and kids????”

Pretty much every single person agreed her friend needed to run, and fast.

“Oh your poor friend for falling for that!, I don’t even have any advice. He’s definitely married,” one person commented.

“I agree, definitely married and probably not even using his real name if there is no trace of him out there,” another wrote.

“I’d be tempted to pay for a private investigator because I’m nosey,” one person admitted.

Some did encourage the woman to try and talk to her friend, and that perhaps her friend was actually aware but felt trapped.

“I think you can have one serious conversation about it – don’t make out that she is an idiot for falling for it, but say that you have started to have doubts and are worried about her,” was one suggestion.

“Maybe she already knows and is too embarrassed to leave,” another said.
